Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 8 November 2026
1. Scope
These terms govern the language and school-subject tuition offered under the Sten Digital brand (the "school"). Tuition takes place online.
2. Enrolment and account
Enrolment follows a request and confirmation by the school. A personal account on the website is created for the tuition.
People under 18 cannot register themselves. A parent or guardian registers and adds the child to their account. A person who is not a parent or guardian must provide a notarised power of attorney, which the school approves.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are set per academic hour of 45 minutes and are shown on each course page. Prices may differ between countries.
Payment is by bank transfer against a proforma invoice. Courses may be paid in full or in 2 instalments: 60% on enrolment and 40% due once 30% of the course has been held, within 7 days of receiving the new proforma invoice.
An invoice is issued once payment has been received.
4. Lessons
Lessons take place online via Telegram. For learners under 18, lessons take place through the parent's or guardian's account.
Lesson dates and times are shown in the learner's account.
5. Absences
A one-to-one lesson may be cancelled by the learner no later than 48 hours before it starts. Later cancellations and no-shows count as lessons held.
Missed group lessons are not made up or refunded.
6. Flexible schedule
For language courses with a floating schedule, the learner may buy the "Flexible schedule" option in their account and book the day and time of each next lesson themselves. It costs 15% of the total course price, applies only to the course it was bought for and does not carry over to another course.
7. Changes to tuition
The school may change lesson times, the schedule, teaching methods and materials, and the teacher of any course, informing the learner in advance by email.
8. Violations and account blocking
A violation is: missing a lesson without notice, indecent behaviour, offensive language, or leaving a lesson without good reason and explanation.
After three violations the account is blocked. While blocked, the learner has no access to lessons or the school's services. The school may, at its discretion, unblock the account, keep it blocked, or unblock it without the right to continue the current course; in that case the learner may continue only after enrolling and paying again.
9. Right of withdrawal
A learner who is a consumer may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion without giving a reason. If, at the learner's express request, tuition starts before this period ends, the learner pays for the lessons held up to the withdrawal.
10. Personal data
Personal data is processed in line with the Privacy Policy.
